This website was developed and supported by the grant from the Department of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy (Ministry of Health and Welfare, Executive Yuan) grant of year 2007. Project name is Educational Planning on the Enforcement of Safety and Pharmaceutical Care Quality Control in Chinese Medicines;grant number CCMP98-RD-20). This project is to promote the quality control of the pharmaceutical care and medications and also fulfill the Plans of Establishing Medication Safety Environment of Chinese Medicine (CM) in Taiwan.

Project PI (Tzu-Hua Wu, Ph.D., Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Taipei Medical University; also act as Director of Taipei Pharmacist Association) and co-PI (Chang-Shiann Wu, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Department of Information Management, National Formosa University) construct this website with a multidisciplinary team including engineer who expert in Information technology and management and pharmacists were also included. The purpose of this website is to provide information in the forms of bilingual (in English and Chinese) and particularly to define the evidence levels  health care professions. To make the information easily understood, the content was extracted from literature but was evaluated by pharmacists who also rewording for general population.

Project Objectives:
        More than a third of people in the world have sought alternative medicine . In Taiwan, Chinese medicine is the main alternative medicine and a majority of people who use alternative medicine also use western medicine. Only 1% of people use alternative medicine exclusively . According to a study in 2003, 32.5% of the public in Taiwan’s central region use Chinese and Western medicine simultaneously. In 2000, the U.S. based Pew Research Center and the Pew Internet & American Life Project indicated that 55% of Americans have sought medical information online]. When an abnormality with medicine usage is discovered, it is hoped that medical information can be looked up quickly on a single website. Right now, this website includes more than 300 pairs of information from more than 15 review articles and additional clinical trial and local studies are also included.
